Proflorin®
Occasional Intestinal Flora Balancing Support
The health of your gastrointestinal (GI) tract influences your nutritional status on a fundamental level. One of the most
important contributing factors to proper GI function is balanced flora – good bacteria – in your intestines.
Rounds of antibiotics, poor nutrition that compromises your intestinal lining, a diet high in processed foods are just a few
of the reasons that you may lose the good bacteria population in your GI tract. Proflorin helps to replace these all-important
“bugs” to insure healthy colonization of your intestinal flora and a source of beneficial transient bacteria.
Healthy Highlights
- Proflorin contains a non-dairy source of favorable “residential” bacteria, Lactobacillus
acidophilus and Bifidobacteria bifidum. These bacteria colonize and reside long-term in the GI tract, producing important compounds
that have a positive effect on our intestinal health and nutrient absorption.
- Proflorin also contains a proprietary blend of transient bacteria, called homeostatic soil organisms or HSOs.
These are organisms that would normally be ingested with a whole-foods natural diet, but which are sadly deficient in our food supply today.
HSOs colonize and reside short-term in the GI tract, helping to normalize the pH of the colon, “crowd out” harmful bacteria, and
are extremely stable throughout the GI tract, as they “pass through.”
- Additionally, Proflorin also contains Saccharomyces
boulardii, a special bacterial strain which has been shown to stimulate
secretory IgA (your immune system’s first line of defense).
As Part of Your Plan
If you are experiencing food allergies, infections requiring antibiotic therapy, and/or your DigestTest shows elevated levels of urinary indican
(a marker for poor protein digestion and/or harmful bacterial overgrowth), Proflorin can provide the occasional support needed to help balance and
support normal intestinal flora. Additionally, if your ImmunoTest shows a decreased level of secretory IgA, Proflorin may be added to your program
to help support increased production.
